Ya know what's really weird about this whole mom thing? i'm responsible for cutting 30 finger nails and 30 toe nails on a regular basis, plus my own. Andrew said he wouldn't mind if i was in charge of his too.
i LOVE this picture. It is Allison's personality to a T. =)
i think she's going to have gorgeous skin.
His eyes seem to be staying blue.
Allison with one of her beloved Ikea dishes.
Allison is becoming such a fun girl. She's always been happy and social and spirited but now, ohh now she's walking around being a little person! She's responding to what we say and doing exactly what she wants; sometimes it's what we want too. She's trying to help us, she's expressing her feelings, she's just so awesome. It's amazing to watch her change and discover this world. i still can't believe she's walking!!!! And i'm in awe that we get to experience this joy two more times.
Sesame Street is now a part of our lives. i think that's a good thing, it has lots of positives and it allows us a few minutes to get things done in the mornings. She loves the beginning part, anything with Cookie Monster or Elmo, and the ending, mainly because it's familiar. She has started to protest food, which is normal for her age, and has come face to face with "the time out chair". So far it's working. i know it's still a game for her but the mere mention of the time out chair and she starts behaving again for me. Ahhh the excitement...
Giving Kadin his binky... and then taking it back out.
And the babies looking twinny.
Also, the babies had 2oz. each of formula in the last 24 hours. That's it! i'm amazed because they're eating 4oz. each every 3 hours... that's 64oz. Minus a little bit for their longer stretch at night, that's still at least 54oz. i'm able to give them. i'm so proud of that.
Allison, Daddy and i had a great time.... and it was even sunny!
If anyone in the area wants to go to a COOL pumpkin patch, you should check out Lakeview Farms in North Plains. They have a little boat you ride out to the pumpkin field, then a train you take back, plus a kids corn maize, a big corn maize (didn't go through it) and lots of other stuff.
She looks scared in half the pics but she had a good time. She loved the boat ride. i've had to keep her home the last several months so she hasn't really been "out and about" that much. Last Friday i took her to Book Babies at the library for the first time since she was 4 months old i think. She was in awe at first, 30+ one year olds will do that to ya! But then she warmed right up and LOVED it. Hopefully we'll make it back there this Friday with Daddy.
(Grandma's been staying home with the twins so we can do these things... plus most of the cooking... we owe her. )
i'm going to miss my belly. As hard as carrying 2 babies is, i'm going to miss how i look, how they feel and i'll miss being able to keep them fed and safe so effortlessly.
They're coming out in 2 days.
Dr. deCastro called last night and he's decided pre-eclamspia is on its way; it's time to deliver @ 35 weeks 2 days. i started having horrible headaches this last weekend and last week my blood pressure started climbing. They took some blood and ran tests which showed my liver isn't happy. As difficult and draining and emotional as the last several months have been, i'm actually really sad to realize it's almost over. And i'm so scared that they won't be strong and healthy enough. All i can do is pray.
One more belly pic... nearly 35 weeks.
i'm sorry, Alli Balli, that this will interrupt your birthday party on Saturday. i'm sorry i won't be here for your birthday (Mommy will have to be in the hospital, but you will come visit) and i'm sorry your little brother and sister are going to be born so close to your birthday. i did all i could do, sweetpea.
Why haven't they called to put my baby on a magazine cover yet? I mean look at her! =)
So my hip pain is becoming unbearable. i've been waking up every morning either in tears or close to it. And trying to find a position to sleep in is getting impossible. It's also starting to radiate into my lower back and bum. Sitting is okay and standing is fine for a few minutes, although now my feet fall asleep really quickly. Walking is bad because i get Braxton Hicks contractions. Yikes, i am totally falling apart and i still have a good 13 weeks left.
Here's my belly yesterday, 23 weeks... i was about this big with Alli at 33 weeks.
The Christmas tree is up, Allison sat on Santa's lap (she did SO good), and it snowed yesterday... it was a fun productive weekend. Oh, we also had a delicious b-day dinner at P.F. Changs with Mom and my brother, and made a trip to IKEA, our first real time to walk around the place, which is HUGE. We were pretty impressed and ended up buying quite a bit. The white nightstands i've been wanting, a coffee table and end table, a bedroom lamp (going to get another one of those!), a duvet cover, bibs... lots of great stuff.
My job interview last week was also successful, they called Friday and offered me the job. i said absolutely, even though i have no idea how i'll manage with two babies and the commute and lack of sleep... but it'll be an adventure and good for Alli to share Mommy and have a friend.
Ya know, just once i'd like to be able to start and finish
these blogs within the same hour! For the past 3 months i've begun
writing in here in the morning and then finally hit "save" at about 6pm.
It's crazy how much work these babies are... she's a sneaky little girl
though. For the past few days she's been smiling at me even if i've got
a grumpy look on my face, so of course i end up smiling back at her. So much love.
Yesterday Allison had a dress rehearsal in her Christmas dress and new shoes...
i thought just in case we don't get any cute ones when we put her on Santa's lap,at least we'll have semi-happy pictures of her in the dress she will now wear at least twice!
i can't complain though because she did another all-nighter last night; slept from about midnight til almost 8am. i didn't wake up either. Good girl Alli Balli =)
