My dream last night...
The baby had been born and there were tons of people over to see us (we were at the house i grew up in, in Aloha). Allison looks like a BOY though, which kind of upsets me. Everyone else just pretends she is pretty. i was desperately trying to breastfeed her in front of everyone but it was difficult and embarrassing. For some reason i was naked with just a blanket over me and things kept getting exposed. Then it got painful because she wasn't latching on properly. i tried burping her but all i could think was, "This isn't how you're supposed to look honey. You don't look like me, you look like your uncle Brian." Then everyone started holding her, passing her around (Andrew was NO WHERE to be found though). i start asking, "So what happened? i don't remember the labor at all." And they tried to fill me in on the birth but none of it was making sense. (God, i hope that's not how it really goes! i want to remember my daughter's birth.)
Oh it was nice to finally hold her though.
Soon!
Here's the view when i try to see my toes...
Last night i suddenly realized that Allison could be here in 6 weeks (i'd be 37wks), healthy and ready to come home. That makes me incredibly excited and scared and amazed... Just six weeks? Andrew thinks that's plenty of time to prepare but holy cow! i just know these last weeks are going to fly by. My ticker says 60-ish days. This is actually happening. =)
i'm not much different than last week but i love taking these pictures. (Of course the mirror is all messy from Zoe playing in the sink and spraying water everywhere heh.) Growth u/s in 5 days...
My 29 week appointment was today. Andrew was a darling and came with me. First, the numbers... blood pressure was great at 118/82, weight was up 3lbs which makes a 1lb gain total, Alli's heart beat was in the 140's and she is measuring at 31 weeks. We discussed the gestational diabetes and he reassured me that just tweaking a few dietary things should make the rest of my pregnancy extremely normal. i'm SOooo glad he's my doctor... seriously. He also wants me to have another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check her size and the amniotic fluid. This thrills me, of course. Let me see my baby! i'll also be going to a class on gestational diabetes next week, testing my blood sugar at home and having plenty of follow-up appointments. i'm feeling good about things. There is NO WAY i could keep a job at this point with all this going on though. i don't know how women are able to do this and keep working until their due date... "Yeah boss, i just need to take off Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of this week and every week until i give birth. That won't be a problem right?" Heh.
God i'm tired..
Here's da belly today...
And totally unrelated, this outage has been affecting 4 of my favorite websites all afternoon. They "say" everything was back on at 5pm but they're lying. Good grief.

We've started watching all of the Harry Potter movies again so we can see the newest one in the theatre. They are really so well done. Today we took Zoe to the vet one more time for a booster shot. He's already 5 pounds. We also decided to declaw him when he gets neutered in about a month, mainly because i really trust this new clinic we're going to. Anyway, Andrew is working until 10pm so i'm just relaxing.
i love my belly. i plan on asking God why he felt that pregnant women needed fuzzy bellies though...
Coming home, stripping everything off and watching my baby move is one of the best things about being pregnant right now. The other night Andrew had his ear to my belly, talking and singing to her, like he does most nights, and she kicked him in the head. Too sweet. =)
And the kitties are still best friends.
Our fun 4 day weekend at Wallowa Lake is over. i'm pretty happy to be home and see our kitties (thanks Mom for taking good care of them!) Getting a real shower and clean clothes is nice too. Here's the yurt... it had a lovely view of the mountains and river, a gas stove, skylight and covered deck. We loved it.
i'm doing okay, just feeling very BIG and swollen (my ankles didn't like being in the car for 6 hours). Alli has been very active, kicking hard enough to feel outside of my belly, though i still can't get Andrew's hand there fast enough. Things are good. =)
We've now gone from a large onion, to a large sweet potato, to a small zuchini. But at 20 weeks they start measuring from head to toe, instead of head to rump, so no more comparisons. i'll miss those. At the half way mark it's pretty easy to imagine just how big he/she is inside of there... pretty damn big! =) Most women will have gained about 10 lbs. at this point but i'm still gaining and losing the same pound. i'm thrilled because gaining 30 lbs. during this pregnancy would NOT be helpful. My back is already starting to hurt from my job (carrying around a 15 pound baby all day and lifting her big brother who's at least 35 lbs.)
i can finally say our ultrasound is NEXT WEEK. In 7 days we'll know how the baby is doing, check on the placenta and find out the sex. Excited doesn't even begin to cover it! Still waiting for some big kicks. There have been a couple but nothing regular. Andrew rubs my belly every day, which i adore; it's getting huge and hard and almost cute. Last night he had his ear to my belly, listening for swooshing sounds heh. Then he said he probably wouldn't know if he heard them since he doesn't know what a non-pregnant belly sounds like. He also worked overtime yesterday (after i told him i may be off from work starting in July...) There are so many things he does, probably without knowing it, that make me love him a million times more than i already do.
It's too warm today. i love sunny and kinda warm, but please don't get over 80. Not sure if i can handle this summer without a/c.
